Ah, thanks Jo. I'll try that next time she starts. I was just floored. I mean, we were sitting at a table full of people. I've not had anyone ask me such things yet. I guess I was just surprised. Take me back to high school all over again. I'm usually full of smart-a$$ed comments.

And thanks Linda. I guess I was just sooo surprised that she had the nerve to do it. I just kept trying to think 'well, at least she's noticed I'm losing weight'. That whole self-talk came in great here...'come on, be nice, be nice" And, btw, she did have the nerve to ask the woman sitting across from me, Deliliah, how much her house cost. (*D is the one moving into the subdivision at the end of the month. My new walking buddy). So this woman was 'weird' to everyone sitting there.

I've also tried to remind myself that maybe she isn't so happy with herself that she's trying to make herself feel better by making me feel like crap. I'm not very good at guessing size but she's a pretty thick lady. Not as big as I am but not very small either. Plus as I mentioned before she's friends with the lady across the street that has told me to my face that I'm fat. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.

Thanks for the support ladies. I just keep reminding myself that one of these days I'll be able to say 26 to 16 then 14 and maybe even 12.

Hey Rodeo! I wish I had the insight or hindsight to come up with something witty. I wish! Instead I sat there mumbling like I was a geek in hs again! Ugh!

I'm working on an email too btw! Oh, and you have inspired me to find some 'BEFORE" pics. I think I've found one that I can send it. Ugh, me at my worst. I'm sending in a during one too. Hopefully it will be updated when my p's are here and take a better shot. My hub just doesn't understand the concept of me standing sideways!

Hi Skye,

I just posted in studio but didn't want to clutter up your thread with a bunch of chatter, but I wanted to respond to your comment about a new do!

As far as a new do, find a really good hair stylist and go in before your appointment and ask to look a hairstyle books. Pick out a couple things you like and tell the stylist what you like about those styles and also what you don't like. Ask the stylist if they believe your hair could hold that style and any other ideas they may have. A good stylist is worth their weight in gold!!

I just paid a bunch for a cut and color touch but it is worth the price. There are some places a girl just should not scrimp! I feel like I could go in there, close my eyes and tell her to do whatever she likes and I would be happy. I trust her that much, she knows my hair and my tastes. I have been going to her for 5 years after trying a couple other people I didn't care for that much.

You are going to need a new do for that new body! :D

Mickey, I totally agree...unfortunately I just moved away from my hair goddess! She cut me the day before we moved-Jun 2-and now I'm in need. Everyone that I've made friends with down here (TX) is either new to the area or wears loooonnnnngggg hair. I've been doing this nasty little pony-tail thing cause I can't stand to have it down.

I need to go find a new hair goddess! Hopefully it won't take too long!

Good morning Skye - just checking in to see how you are doing! How the heck are ya?

I used to live in TX for most of the 90's - Houston mostly but also Ft. Worth. I have naturally curly hair and when I was in Houston I had no choice but to leave it long and curly due to the humidity. We have humidity up her in MO too but not quite as much as Houston.

I still wear my hair looooong with curls in the summer and in the winter I flat iron it straight. It is so fine the curls are the only thing that gives it body and when it is short it looks awful. I only get 2 trims a year.

Where are you? :D

I have to admire you for having the discipline to flat iron daily. Left on its own my hair is wavy and dry, but not uniformly. Sometimes it is straight but poofy. So if I don't want to flat iron it, I use a balm and leave-in conditioners to give it shape. If it is humid I go ahead and use my curling products to give it control. My haircut is supposed to be flat-ironed like in my avatar and I haven't done it in probably two weeks. I think I have more hair products than skin products and I have a lot!

Biki - I think anyone with any natural curl or wave has to have a ton of hair products! ROFL, we have to be prepared for changes in the weather. I don't flat iron everyday because with hair this long I don't wash it every day. A few years back I got the Chi reconditioning/straightening treatment and for a year I had the most beautiful straight silky hair. So the next year I got it done again. I loved my hair for two years because I would get out of the shower and slick on a little hair serum and go. Never even had to blow dry. It was horribly expensive though and I had to keep my hair shoulder length to protect both my hair health and my financial health. They charge by the hour and it takes anywhere from 2-1/2 to 6 hours to do my hair. It is not thick, just medium but extremely fine so I have a lot more hair than it looks like I have.

Anyway besides the expense and the fear of ruining my hair, after two years of straight hair I actually missed my curls!

I thought I detected natural wave or curl in some of your pictures. I think you have more thickness and I envy that but it would take you a lot longer to flatiron with thicker hair. The worst part of it for me is that the back is too long again. Time for a trim because I can't reach far enough (even with my ape-length arms) to get the flat iron all the way through it in one sweep.

Skye - sorry for hijacking your journal!

My hair has actually thinned a little on MF but it seemed to do it uniformly and I had a lot of hair anyway.

Good moring...no apologies needed Linda. I actually enjoy hair conversations. I've always wished that I had a close friend that did hair. I actually do other people's hair (cut/style) but am a mess when it comes to my own. I have horrible cowlicks in my hair thanks to my dad. I've got one in the front that gives me a natural part to the side, one on the crown of my head, and one at my hair line that makes it impossible to give me a straight across the neck cut, although many stylists have tried.

I've actually been thinking about doing a boy haircut. I watch Charmed. Alyssa Milano pulls off the cut I want beautifully in the later seasons. I'm just scared I won't like it on my head. Plus, my hair grows relatively quick so I'd be spending $$ to get it trimmed all the time. My hair scares me! I usually wear it long BUT DA** it's hot here. And I end up pulling it up all the time.

UGH, my internet connections SUCKS! Time to call and complain. Hope you all have a great day!

She went through SOOO many hair styles during that show, hard to figure out exaclty which one you mean. I like my short hair. It was longer when I was younger, but since it is so thick it was heavy and caused headaches. I like that I can pull of some hair styles with my thicker hair that some people just can't pull off.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say hey! Hope all is going well for you today! Sure hope you gave that internet provider an earful! We need you here.

There is this relatively new hair straitening process here in Hawaii that's called the Japaneese hair straitening method. It rocks my world. It's soooo expensive but worth it. I have long bushy half wavy half striat hair. It looks a mess in this humidity. I got the treatment done and now its wash and wear. It looks like it has been flat ironed everyday! :D I love it!

I do hate seeing the old curly baby hairs re-appear in 4 months because that means I have to plop down another couple hundred for a touch up but I look at it this way. It's on my face, people see it everyday. If you are going to splurge, hair is where you do it. And I have no disapline! I have not touched my flat iron or hairdryer in about a year.

Hi Skye :D
The HAIR delema :x

I totally agree with Mickey, it is so worth it to spend the bucks on a super stylest . I found my stylist by going up to someone whos hair/color I liked.
That said, Ive also like the Allysa M hair cut. Have you looked at websites for super short hairstyles. Lots of great ideas. Im getting mine cut on Thursday and am thinking about Alyssa's or a Sharon Stone short cut.

You are doing great by the way. Keep doing it girlie, you'll love the results :D

Gotta chime in here and agree with mickey and hol. A great stylist is so worth it! I found mine just as Hol suggested. I asked someone who's hair I liked where they went. A good hair stylist will know in advance what will look good on you. A sign of a good stylist is the amount of time you have to spend on your hair. It shouldn't be a big chore. My hair just seems to go where it's supposed to.....that's a good cut. I love my Sharon Stone style cut.

Charity - the Chi treatment I used to get is exactly what you are talking about. I loved it! It cost me $650 the first time and then $250 a year later for a touchup which is not what was done. The girl did the whole thing again so I got a deal. It was just too expensive to continue though.

Ah, the internet connection...anyway. Gotta love hair. I can see in your avitars that both Jo and Hol keep short hair. I've done it many times and am just scared to go to someone new. Next time I hit wally world I'm going to walk through the magazine section and see what I can find. Can't really count on my computer to let me browse long. Maybe if I can find what I want and take a pic in with me then wouldn't be able to mess up the cut.

Life has seemed to go on without me. I've been a bit under the weather and am showered and dressed for the day for the first time since Friday. Don't worry, I did shower over the weekend :D I just put clean pj's back on and lounged tho.

With baby around I can't just go back to bed anytime I feel the need. Although I did nap when she was down on Friday and Saturday.

So, other than the desire to cheat battle going on in my head not much else to report. I am comfortably wearing my 18's now. That's a good thing.

Oh, Linda, I'm in San Antonio. Just outside of loop 410.

Okay, gotta go chug some water and get a band workout done while she's napping. Hope you all have an awesome day!
