I am going to chime in the whole pilates thing. I hemmed and hawed over the price of pilates after doing group mat sessions for only $10 each. Now I am signing up for regular pilates. I get 2 private sessions, 2 sessions with a group of 4 people on something called The Reformer and group mat sessions for $170. It is the beginners package to see how you like it. I have a friend that started pilates 3 years ago and has since become an instructor. She has gone from a size 18 to an 8 and looks amazing, plus she is strong and limber. I have to find something that won't inflame my neck. Anyway, I am giving this a try and hope I am not just getting myself in to a money pit!
I envey you, Robin and Lauren for all your exercise, but like I said, I have to find something that won't inflame my neck.
Hey Mickey,
I had my pilates consultation today. It was $39 for about an hour with an instructor. The next step is to do 3 mat classes with an apprentice and then 10 private lessons with an instructor. They won't let me do group classes until I've completed the mat and 10 private lessons. My session today was on the reformer - definitely more difficult than it looks. I enjoyed the session today and I signed up for my mat classes to start next week. I'll be interested to hear how your classes go
