I want to be your walking buddy too! Every once in a while I get lazy and skip a day or two and I think a committment and support from other walkers will definitely help! Let me know if I can join!

Sounds good to me and as soon as I finish my first cup of coffee I'm out the door. I'm probably only going to walk a mile this morning since I'm exercising this afternoon with my friend.

Exercised Friday as planned and I'm going to go ahead and try walking at the track next week. So far I have had a successful and compliant weekend. :) Hope everyone has a good weigh-in this morning!

Donna, good for you on being compliant!!!! I'm clapping and smiling for you (it isn't easy to get going again....but you've done it!!!).

Thanks T! It's not easy, as you know. Have a great day!

I only walked 2 miles this morning but I have to walk another 1.6 miles to get my medicine at CVS later. The pharmacy wasn't open when we walked by and also I hadn't ordered the medicine yet so we would have had to wait 20 minutes and we had the dog with us.

I need to begin walking more. I moved the treadmill into my sewing room over the weekend (it was in the living room). Maybe I'll get on it this afternoon after I get home........I am so flabby (lots of loose skin) and need to begin doing some strength/toning exercises to build up the muscle hiding under the skin, along with some aerobics to burn off the rest of this weight.........

So much to do, so little time, energy and desire. ;)

Hi Donna, Good for you getting in some exercise. I am walking every other day. I live in an area with lots of hills and I get in about 2 miles. Now I need to add some strength training 2 times a week. Some days I just have to force myself to walk, but I am always glad I did. They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit...well I am going on 12 weeks and I still don't love it or consider it a habit! But I know it needs to be a routine to keep the weight off so I guess I better put on my walking shoes and get with it this morning!

I walked a mile and it took me 21 minutes but at least I did walk. Looked on my calendar when I got home and realized I have to sub at the High School tomorrow so I will need to get up extra early to walk tomorrow and we bowl tomorrow night. If I'm going to walk it has to be in the morning.

It is so hard to start exercising again and I get mad at myself for ever stopping in the first place. I think that if I never would have quit I would already be in good shape.

Good for you Biki, your so good about getting your walking in. I'm the one that needs a push to do it. My husband says that he can walk with me in the evenings but it's so hot here right now that I just can't bring myself to do it. We are finally getting into the high 60's and low 70's at night (late night/early morning).

My afternoon exercise (3 times a week) is aerobic and strength training. I was so sore last week I could hardly walk. Monday and Tuesday we split the routine up and Friday we did more than half the tape so we will get there eventually. It's my experience that the longer you work out and the better shape you get into, the more you will not want to miss your workout. I guess I will get on the treadmill in the morning instead of the track since I don't like going in the dark by myself.

Back when I was walking all the time it was still hard for me to get up early and do it (which you have to here in TX during the summer if you can't tolerate the heat) but I was always glad I did. I have a few hills down my road and I have walked it before but now I'm worried about all the dogs out. I dont' know what it's going to take for me to really enjoy exercising and not do it because I have to. I just can't see it happening.

Hi Donna & Bikipatra,

Good job with the walking!

I took my short walk today with my dog only 3/4 mile, however, tomorrow we hit the hills for a steep 1 mile walk. By Wed I take a trail walk that is about 2.5 miles and then scale down again.

I am going to go post in biki's journal now...

Great job, really,
joy

Whoa, you didn't mention the upcoming 2.5 mile in my journal! I am feeling so unfit. I finallly got an email this morning that my title nine bras have shipped, so maybe I can jog soon. Oh, I forgot to mention how much I walked yesterday. 3.8 miles.

End of week 15, -3.5 lbs.

I'm very happy with my loss but I do realize that I probably could have lost about 8 in the past four weeks if I had not cheated. I'm so close to the 100's!!!

I exercised last night and I walked a mile this morning. I actually jogged one lap and it still took me nearly 20 minutes. I could have kept walking but I knew I was going to workout this evening so I stopped. I also have to bowl this evening and my foot is still bothering me so I didn't want to over do it.

Didn't have to sub at the HS today either so that was a nice surprise.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Walking buddy checking in

Hi Donna,

Just checking in...I just got back from my walk into the hills and thought I had better check in before I finish my exercise this morning with a little time on my elliptical machine for toning. Gosh I was starving and had to have a snack.

Great to read you got your walk in and wonderful to see you have had a great week of weight loss.

stop by again tomorrow -
joy
