Falisa ~

I know how hard it is to show up when not feeling especially optimal. I have had so many failed weight loss attempts - I have a trail of them.

I was a professional dieter. I have been on nearly every diet out there and all they ever got me was...OUT there - I was out to here and out to there!

Those failures taught me something really important - if I was to make it, to escape from my fork-induced flaborama, I had to change stuff.

Once I reached the "I've totally had it" stage, I decided that I could no longer go on living according to my own selfish weighs - I wanted to de-flab once more and by golly, I was gonna do it 100% according to the program ways - not MY way because doing other diets 75% did not get me to my goal. Doing things my way, got me to weigh too much.

It is not too late for you.

Yeah, it s embarrassing, it hurts our pride, it makes us feel like poopage when we fail but failure can flip ya toward higher ways and it can be just the impetus one needs to git 'er done.

I hurt inside for you because I have felt that empty, achy, cry-yer-eyes out, red puffy eyelids, snotty-nose gasping-for-air feeling so many times...I know how it feels to sit in a rocking chair in a darkened room and not go anywhere except to the office for months because of embarrassment and feelings of failure and the fatigue that washes over, the painful joints and sleepless nights….it just goes on and on.

There is nothing good about being there…

But do ya know what?

There is fresh air outside.

This is a new day.

We cannot haul you outta your funk, we want to… but you must get up outta that chair, go to the pantry, fill that jar with fresh cool water, add the packet of shake mix and give it a shake-a-mundo and sip it down.
Guzzle a tankload of water and then two and a half hors later, do it over again.

Gather up every lick of Lisa that’s left and come on out and play with us!
Shake with us!

I did it this time.
You can do it, too.
We believe in you – even when you do not believe in you, we do.
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...

Hi Lisa!

I'm so glad to see you back : )

I started MF the first time in 11/05 and have been on and off since then, lurking around, trying to get back on the MF wagon.

I remember seeing your fabulous progress and I always enjoyed reading your posts. You inspired me a lot!

You made a lot of progress in a short amount of time, and can do it again. Great to see you here, and here's to our New Start, New Beginning and fast track to health the MF way.

Hey Lisa! I logged on here JUST for you :) (no, offence to anyone, just doing something different from medifast right now).

Lisa, please don't be hard on yourself. "what if's" and "if only's" don't get us anywhere. It's what you do here and now that matters. You can't do anything about what's past. You can choose to lament and we all know that lamenting only leads to emotional eating...or you can take deep breath, swallow hard, say out loud "I WILL do this" and begin again. Like we've told so many others...3 hours at a time...3 hours at a time.

Now, girl you have my phone number and just because I chose another route to get healthy doesn't mean we can't support each other. SO, please call me and we'll talk these things out. I'm here for you...love you!

(Joyce, glad to 'see' you! I hope you are doing well and just because you aren't MFing doesn't mean you can't pop in and let us know how you are doing! :) ).

Awwww thank you :) I'm doing well...feel good, losing weight. I'm down 24 pounds...I was down 28, had a slip up, got a grip, and am on the way down again.

The truth is...I AM doing medifast right now, but am having the LapBand placed on June 1st. I know surgery is frowned upon by a lot of people and not encouraged by medifast, but it was the choice I needed to make for me. I plan on following medifast until surgery and for at least two weeks after (liquids only after surgery). Then I'll still incorporated it into my day, but not the full 5 & 1. More like 2 & 3. The '3' will be protein first, veggies next and complex carb if there's room. So, I'm still low carbin' it with all of you and will probably use medifast in some respect for the rest of my life. I have yet to find a better, more nutritious, lower calorie alternative!

I was hoping that Lisa had checked in....

Joyce, I wish you every success in your surgery and the time afterwards. We all have to do what we have to do and you have every right to make your own choices so I would hope that no one says anything negative about your choice to have lapband surgery.

Keep in touch before your surgery so we can enjoy the MF journey between now and then....and then let us know how you are doing afterwards.

Time for you to dust off your journal and keeping us in the loop with you?! ;)

Sorry I have been so distant here lately. I have a daughter who just had prom and now we are getting her ready for graduation.

With all the support I am already receiving I know I will be able to do this.

I saw my Dr and she advised me to jut pick a start date and write it down and not to let anything stop me so my official start date is the second Sunday after graduation which is May 27th so please look for me and I will be checking in before that for inspration.

Thanks

Lisa
