Heya

Postby tama » February 21st, 2007, 5:42 pm

Hello people!

I'm a little bit shy to post for the first time. My name is Tamara, I am married with three kids (four counting the shih-tzu). My husband is deployed to Iraq and I haven't much dieting support around here on my own with him gone. I hope I've found some new support! I ordered some medifast online and found this board on a google search. It hasn't arrived yet, but I am hopeful. I did lose a lot of weight on another liquid diet, but regained it after I quit smoking and took up eating as a habit. I haven't a clue to how much I weigh, but I do know I'm busting out of my 16's and 18's. This is very bad. I'm guessing over 220. I need a new lithium battery for my scale but haven't found one at the stores in town yet.
I guess I am rambling because I am nervous. Anyhow, I wanted to introduce myself. I hope to get to know you all!

~Tamara

Welcome Tamara. I too was nervous so it took me almost three weeks of lurking before I actually joined the site - which was just two days ago. I too was a little nervous but it seems like everybody on this site joins together and rallies behind each other. Welcome again!!!!!

Tamara, this is going to change your life. First of all, its not a liquid diet. There is real food here, not just shakes. You will love it. Check the lean cuisine section for lots of recipes. You also get to have a meal that you prepare with meat and veggies. Huge difference with this plan and "diets".
Good luck, and welcome.

so sorry

Postby tama » February 22nd, 2007, 7:20 am

Sort of why I was nervous to post, to have what I said picked apart. I'm sorry I mispoke. I do understand that medifast has real food. I was trying to say I guess, that I had committed to a prescribed diet plan before, successfully, but the maintenance was my problem after I quit smoking. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.

I promise no one's feathers were ruffled. We were just trying to clarify. A lot of times newbies have questions and we all try to help!

Tamara,

You are going to absolutely love it here. Everyone is so supportive. If you need anything just ask. Even if you want to vent about anything.

Tamara, I apologize if what I said come off as sounding like it ruffled feathers.
We are very glad you are here and I just wanted to give you a way to tell those around you who might be skeptical about this program that it isn't a liquid diet. ;)
I have been know to put my foot in my mouth from time to time, pretty much without even realizing that I did it
So, once again, welcome. We are glad you are here. Take off your shoes, have some water and stay a while.

Welcome Tamara~ No reason to be nervous. We are all here for each other......for support.......encouragement........and sometimes even to set one another straight. It is true accountability. It's a little odd, I know, but I find a ton of accountability right here among people whom I have never truly met, except through cyber space. As Katie said.....we're here for you.

Welcome Tama! I like the MediFast plan because it is easy to follow. I think you'll like it, too!

And don't worry -- the people on this board are really nice and they always try to be helpful.
