Congrats! I use a lot of Splenda and cinnamon for my oatmeal, some DaVinci syrups and some Crystal Light (mostly to mix in my pudding to make chocolate-raspberry). I think those are my main non-Medifast staples.

I think I qualify as having done it awhile. I'm a very slow loser, so I've been here almost a year (Medifast anniversary is June 12). I love the program, though. Before this, I had so ruined my metabolism with repeated dieting that I couldn't lose on any other program. So even though it's frustrating sometimes, I'm happy with my loss so far (and getting pretty darn close to goal!).

As for the program itself, once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to follow. There are challenges, and there are times when it's hard to stick to because you'd rather just eat what everyone else is eating, but that goes for any weight-loss plan. All in all, it's pretty simple. And whether you lose slowly or quickly, you do lose.

Hey, one more tip, Sharon. Register on the site, so you can get private messages and stuff. You'll find yourself relying on this place quite a bit, especially in the beginning or in times of frustration. And it's fun to share your successes, too. This is a great group of people, very supportive (usually even when we disagree).

Hi Sharon!

Congrats to you for throwing in your hat and joinging us here and in medifast-land! I did read you'd like to hear from folks that have been on for awhile -but I wanted to say hello and although I'm only on plan for a tad less than 2 weeks- its pretty easy to stick to! :D
I was a *huge* pick on fruit eater before starting... and theres nothing about eating fruit on plan that I see except dont do it. But keeping yourself watered and fed every two-three hours really kicks the "munchies" down! And thank goodness its warm weather-cause guzzling water like we're part fish is easier to do as well.

All the best to you!

There should be "register" button. I can't remember the exact location but it's either at the top or the bottom of the page with all the navigation links. Best of luck to you, by the way.

Welcome!

Enjoy the wedding and get ready when you are done to Jump on the wagon!!! Everyone here is more than willing to provide support and advice when you need it!

Splenda often helps the taste of things if you prefer more sweetness.

Also, I got some great advice that cooking oatmeal on the stove top improves the taste tremendously- and it does! I'm not sure why, but it has gone from my most dreaded food to my favorite of the day! I love the maple with just a drop of SF maple syrup in it. YUM!!!

Also, there was a thread a while back where Nancy mentioned that Sugar Free Cool Whip could be substituted for a snack. I have used that on pudding at night and it is YUMMY!!!

Enjoy and good luck!!!

Hi,
I just got home from the wedding.Thought about running through a fast food place for a last fling then decided against it.
Thank you for all the advice. I was going to have oatmeal in the morning for my very first MF meal. I guess I had better cook it on the stove rather microwave it. I got the berry and the peach. I guess the first few weeks are a time of discovering what you do and don't like. I will check in tomorrow and tell you what I thoght of the food.
Thanks again to everyone for all the help.

Sharon-

First- let me say Welcome! You have made a wonderful decision...this plan has worked and is working for so many people.

Cheers....Hip-Hip-Away...for driving past that drive up window! That is a sign of your determination to succeed at this! And succeed you will. If ever you doubt it, just come here and read again the inspiring stories of all those who have done it!

I am new here and to Medifast. I started June 1 and it has helped me to read through the Lean Cuisine Section...finding not only good recipes for things to add to your meal replacements- but also, just the best ways people have found to prepare the different items. Use the Search feature if you are looking for a specific item.

One more- I have not purchased them yet, but I read alot of people are using I Can't Believe It's Not Butter in the spray form...or Molly McButter Sprinkle on flavor. I intend to get one of these as I miss the butter flavor on my oatmeal and steamed veggies for the L & G. That might be something you want to try.

Happy shaking to you and...
Blessings-
J
