 Hi, Sharon!! You'll be pleased to know that I actually wore make-up to the first event! I intend to at least blow dry my hair and wear lipstick tomorrow -- I'll keep you posted! lol

Thanks, Dede, for your response. So glad you are "now more qualified." Amazing, isn't it?? Thanks, too, for keeping down the fort! I love being part of this team/family. And I will, indeed, tell everyone hello on your behalf.

Dayna and I got in to Salt Lake City today around 3ish I think, and quickly found the Nordstrom Rack in our quest of a WalMart (why go to WalMart when there's a Nordstrom Rack!!). Definitely better than the one in San Francisco! BUT they didn't have the shoes that I resisted buying in SF. NOT TO FEAR, they had OTHER things to buy!! (Mike: only a pair of shoes I'll wear a LOT, socks, and some costume jewelry...$77)

We've brought frozen RTDs along -- some were still frozen yesterday afternoon! And they keep the water cool in the, well, cooler. I'm worried about all the cocoa, though, since it's a migraine trigger for me. Thanks to Dayna, I've got other packets and two shaker jars (I was having trouble packing and leaving...explain that one??) and bars that don't involve cocoa. At Starbucks, I asked for a tall decaf Americano over ice in my Starbucks covered tumbler, then added a packet of French Vanilla for a latte -- one of my favorite Medimeals!

As much as I miss my husband, traveling with Dayna - singing songs from our childhood, chatting about this and that, seriously pondering a handful of issues, searching for available bathrooms (and getting creative when we can't find one open! Can you say "close to nature," boys and girls?) - is an absolute blast. Highlights since we've gotten here: Chatting with lots of TSFL staff members (including 2 board members) during dinner, dancing with Unca Tim, twisting with Nancy, and talking to lots and lots of great folks who are so generous with their time, knowledge, experience and resources.

Hi Ladies,
I had such a wonderful time getting to know all of you at the confernce. I just got home it is around 8:00. The flight was very rough. I was glad when we landed. I guess Jan and Paul had a very rough flight as well. Thankfully we are all home safe and sound. And loving this program even more then we did before. Is that possible? Im really looking forward to following everyones progress. It will be even more fun now that I have actually met all of you.

What great fun at convention! What awesome people!! Thanks for checking in, Smarti and Sharon. Dayna and I had a BLAST getting to know you, and others, better. Can't wait to do it again!! (November, right???   ) I SO prefer face to face interaction!! And didn't we LEARN a lot?!?

Dayna and I got in about 1:30 a.m. today. She left at noon for Oregon. Mike and I have been taking the day off, lounging, sleeping... Soon the rolling boil starts. Time management and discipline have got to become hallmarks in my life starting Wednesday.

As much as I enjoy this forum, it kills me that it takes me so long to read stuff. I'm going to have to limit myself -- there's so many things I HAVE to get done and WANT to attend to that really aren't going to/don't get done when I spend so much time on here reading just a fraction of the posts. It's a matter of priorities (primary and secondary choices).

Therefore, hugs to all as I become a wallflower in this arena in order to shine in others.

Hi Dianna,
The last time I posted I didn't read your original post I just jumped in at the end. I just went back to the begining and was very moved by your story. It appears that it has become politicaly incorrect to dis any minority or ethnic group EXCEPT the overwieght. We can still be the brunt of jokes, stares, prejudices, judgmental attitudes and just plain rudness. Im thrilled that we have have found a way out and that we are able to bring as many people with us as we can. And like you said it has made us very sensitive toward others. So that is a good thing. You have accomplished so much already and I know you will continue succeed in this journey and by helping others succed too, I know you will also have a very successful bussiness. Im glad I had the oppertunity to meet you at conference and look forward to seeing you again at future events.

Hey, DeDe! Thanks for checking in.

Sleep -- pretty much. Posting -- I've given up!! Mike pretty much reads to me and I grunt, hmmm, or giggle as appropriate. (To be completely truthful, I'm dyslexic and it takes me FOREVER to read through this stuff, particularly the black on white ones. One would think, then, that my posts would be shorter... )

Today was a red letter day, though, and I thought I'd post:

Make-up!! SharonR took me to the mall and I got my make-up done at the Mack counter. Took about an hour. I wound up buying the whole thing minus one of the 4 (yes, count 'em, 4) eyeshadows the gal used. I tried not to faint when the final bill came up, but, really, if I use it every day, that's less than a dollar a day. And my dh, who has had no opinion on whether I wear make-up or not over the last 10 years, has decided it's a good thing! (He even said I looked 10 years younger.)

Scale victory: I'm under 250!! I don't think I was this healthy the last time I was this weight...roughly 14 years ago. (I know for a fact I wasn't this emotionally healthy.) Another 25 lbs and I'll be at my college graduation weight (but I was just about the size I am now).

My business is growing and with exactly the people I wanted it to grow!

Tomorrow morning, the walking club I started hits the Benicia Marina at 9:00 a.m.

(I'm finding it's a lot harder to stay away from the boards than I thought it would be...addiction, perhaps?? hmmm)

Hi Di! I'm proud of you for getting your make-up done. You should have seen her...she looked stunning  :D But umm it's Mac...knowing the true name and spelling is the first step, sister! hehehe... 8) I think its great that you tried to do it for yourself and also to make hubby happy. It's the small things...

I was thinking this morning...I wonder what I will be writing in my journal next year at this time. Where will we be in the company, how much will we weigh, how will our lives have changed? Pretty exciting stuff, I'd say!

Have fun on the walk today, sorry I won't be there. Tony and Desiree are going to try and make it though.

I think I will go to the foot store today, they have on here in Concord too.

Congrats for being under 250! Can you belive it??? WOW!!
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

You saw me in make-up when we were in Las Vegas, and at Roland and Jami's Christmas party. So, that's TWICE in 8 years with the last one being, what, 5 years ago?? lol

Mac, Mac...I wonder how in the WORLD am I going to be able to remember THAT one!!! hmmm... (at least I didn't call it Revlon! lol)

Alright, so now I've got to learn to do that liner brush goo thingy stuff myself. achk! Dab, she says, don't draw, dab. Sounds complicated. But I suppose if I can floss my teeth, I can line my eyes, right?? You see the connection, don't you? lol

The walk was good this morning! Then I came home and SLEPT for 2 hours!! :?: :?: :?: Must have needed it, though.

And here's to the growth of the Make Me Thinner Family!!! :buddies:

ok, now I'm just avoiding going to bed. Not that I'm not tired. (How can I be tired after a 2 hour nap?!?)

But, see, here's the problem: after I go to bed, I have to get up. And once I get up, and before we leave for church, I'm bound and determined to try the make-up routine. And I'm lining my eyes.

Fear. Fear is what keeps me up at night. The stuff's water resistant so it doesn't just rinse off if it doesn't go on just right. Well, that's what the little cloths are for, right?? HEY, maybe MIKE can learn to do my eyes for me!! He'd be the first hubby in history not in the movie industry to attempt that one. (Ok, maybe not.)

Maybe I should just do them tonight and sleep in it. Water resistant...but is it smudge proof?? I do know it took quite a bit to get it off...hmmm

No, tired precludes any attempt at wielding a tiny little wedge of a brush as it dabs at the very edge of my eyelids. Drat. Why didn't I just have the darn things tattooed on?? That would have solved the whole problem...until colored liner comes flying back on the scene.

Oh, the complexity of it all! This would have been a lot easier if I'd taken my mom up on starting to wear make-up when I was 16.

My wife is too funny. No, I won't be applying the eyeliner. But yes, she looks great. We are going to bed now.
