*Tips and Tricks -
How to mix shakes:
In the Pettit household we have different ideas about how we like to prepare our shakes, how we like to consume them and how we like them to taste. Since I’m writing this article, and the universe revolves around me (or so Terry sometimes says that I think it is all about me), I shall first describe MY favorite shake making tips.

I like my shake thick and creamy smooth – like a REAL LIVE milkshake so I prefer my shakes to be prepared in a blender.

Into the blender add 1 cup of cold water, 1 packet of Medifast 55 (I prefer strawberry or Orange for breakfast, Dutch choc for mid morning and afternoon). Whirl for 1-2 minutes, until the soy is totally smooth and fluffy. Now add 1 ½ cups of crushed ice and whirl on high for another minute or so, until the ice is well incorporated into the shake.

Since I am such a glitzy lady, I prefer mine served in a Waterford crystal glass. Of course, my pinky is extended into the air as I take dainty sips of my fabulous shake.

Now the reality of it all is this: Terry makes my shake for me at 6 AM and he serves it to me in a tall paper cup with one of those ‘bendy’ straws so I can sip it while I get cute in front of the vanity mirror! Hah! What a great guy and he makes one mean REAL LIVE Medifast shake for me every morning. I am spoiled. It really IS all about me…

Now Terry likes his shake "quick and dirty" – into his shaker jar goes 1 cup of cold water, 1 packet of Medifast 70 (any flavor, he’s not particular), he tightens the lid, gives it about 20 shakes, removes the lid to his shaker jar – licks the shake off of the lid and sets it aside – and then he scarfs down his shake and he’s on his way. I think he sometimes rinses his jar before he blasts off. Sometimes he doesn’t…thus the name of his recipe is Quick & Dirty! Quick. Easy. Nothing fancy. So very convenient, so unglitzy...

Unca’s recipe and mode of preparation is a whole other story. He grabs a 16 ounce bottle of water from the fridge, sucks down some of it, semi-carefully pours in a couple of choc Medfast Plus Joint Health packets into the small neck of the water bottle, gives it a shake or two, adds a tad bit more water, sucks down some of his drink, puts the chocolatized bottle (drips and all) back into the refer to rest for a while. Sometime later in the day, he finishes off the rest of the bottle with a long soulful, “Aaahhhhhhh!” and then tosses the empty chocolatized bottle into the recycle bin. The Webmaster then returns to his ‘puter. His joints are happy, his tummy is happy and Nancy is wearing something glitzy in a size 6, happily scrubbing the chocolatized grates of the refrigerator.

For best shake results, no matter which of the above methods you prefer, we recommend putting the water into the container first, and then add your packet – this will ensure a smooth well blended drink.

Coming next time...how to eat a bar! Just Kidding!

*Phenominal Growth -
Because TSFL is growing so rapidly, a few of us have experienced some delays with our orders. Drat! We are so sorry! This will soon pass as Take Shape for Life transitions to their new shipping facility. We are also merging our order desk with Medifast. Kindly bear with us, while we work out the glitches. Please DO contact us immediately if you experience any problems. As your personal Health Advisors, our goal is to provide you with our premier products in a timely manner.

*The Voice of Victory -
Hey, folks! We have gotten some really great reports from our readers and our MakeMeThinner community. We wish we had a huge refrigerator because if we did, we’d have YOUR picture on our refer door! We want to periodically share some excerpts from our email files to encourage you and to let you know how proud we are of our people who are doing so well on their journey to improved health. These right-from-the-heart comments are from real people like you and me.

B and I are doing great...I'm down about 64 lbs. and B is at 45! I would say he's in transition now, but I'm still on the full meal deal with just under 30 lbs to go. We would definitely like to hear some suggestions on transition as neither of us want to blow the good work we've done!

Day 5...I have been loyal to Medifast only for 4 full days and it has not been that hard .... I feel better already..do not want to get on the scales until it has been a full week (Wednesday will be weight in day) but I really feel as if I have lost weight already...as I type I am drinking my morning shake ... Thanks for your advise as to adding the soups, bars and crackers..I have been having 3 shakes a day before 2 pm and then a soup, crackers and bar as my evening meal..sometimes I cut the bar into many small pieces and use it as an evening snack. Hope this is ok...also, have been going to lunch with my team (each work day) - not ordering "regular" food" but drinking water while they have lunch...then I have my lunch shake when I return to the office...just wanted to give you an update...

I only had about 20 pounds to lose. My Health Advisor told me how Medifast targets the fat cells in our bodies through the process of Ketosis but I was amazed to watch my cellulite disappearing from my legs within the first 3-4 days!

*The Spice Rack - (Send us your Medifast recipes.)
Since I was on the complete meal replacement plan with Take Shape for Life for quite some time, my tongue wanted to have some variety. There are some great recipes and variations that will enhance meal times for you. Our shakes are really quite versatile. One of my fave ways to ‘legally’ alter the flavor of a shake without adding any no-nos, is to add a small amount of the dry powder mix of Crystal Light®, the sugar free low calorie soft drink mix.

We especially like the Raspberry Ice flavor. It tastes great when added to Dutch Chocolate, to Vanilla or to enhance the flavor of our Strawberry shake.

We use approximately 1/8 teaspoon of the dry drink mix to 8 ounces of water and a packet of Medifast. Mix well in a blender or a shaker jar and add ice, if desired. It makes a very tasty drink and your taste buds will thank you for it!
