Okay, I've had an eventful weekend.
I got my new TV installed, so my old tv & DVD/VCR went up into my new "workout room". As I put this room together, I'm embarassed to be out of shop considering the plethora of equipment now gathered in this room (including a fluidity bar/DVD's I still can't figure out how to get together!)
Here's the good news...my JP Pilates performer has plenty of room to hang out here. I ACTUALLY GOT ON IT TONIGHT! I did the beginner workout and daing am I sore! Tummy, back, whole core, that's good, right!
I can do this! Hopefully my thighs won't even rub together by Christmas!

P.S. Anybody have a fluidity bar? I can't get the daing thing to engage and be all together and functional! |

And does anyone with a pilates performer or reformer have the cardio board? It's like a little trampoline for the end of the foot bar so you can do cardio on the pilates machine.
I see one for cheap on ebay....just asking!

| Thanks for mentioning CHUB RUB on the thighs. When I do my own "I Want" list that will definitely be something I will add! |

Chub rub I LOVE the title! It's so icky-sounding, I have to get rid of it NOW!

Hi Dede,
I am looking for pilates performer and have no idea what to buy. Did you do any research before purchasing yours? Can you give me any advice?
Thanks,

I bought the JP model from QVC years ago. Then there was some kind of lawsuit incident because JP wouldn't let reebok or stamina use the pilates performer name. I'm not sure what came out of the lawsuit, but there are performers and reformers out there.
QVC still sells them, but I've seen them on ebay for as low as $50 (plus shipping). Just type in pilates performer in the search engine at Ebay. I LOVE mine! I'm even considering getting the little foot bar trampoline thing (rebounder) so I can do cardio on it too!
They also sell them at places like "play it again sports" which is a used sports equipment consignment shop.
I just need to make it a daily habit! Good luck!

Oh, by the way, I got the fluidity bar working...kind of skeered to try the workout though...do I LOOK like a ballerina, what was I thinking? Oh yeah, that I'm tired of having a flat butt, that's what I was thinking!

Thanks Dede,
I have been searching around and have found several models of prefprmers and reformers. So many options my head is spinning. If I could just lose inches from my neck from head spinning, that would not be such a bad thing!

Tee Hee,
The only thing I think the new models have that mine doesn't is 4 resistance bands instead of 3, but I have the option to change my resistance bands to the double strong kind, so I'm not worried about growing out of the resistance.

Dede, I got the cardio board..ordered from the Q for $80+ dollars and talk about a workout!!!!
I couldn't do it that long...have to build up my stamina I guess but I was in the dressing room at Dillard's (not my favorite place in the world) and have noticed a difference form the Pilates + MF instead of just the MF alone.
In short, yes I would recommend the cardio board...get more use for having to put up with the 10 ft long Pilates deal. |
