DAY FIVE
Finally home after a day of running around shopping and doing errands. Thank goodness MF is so portable. (Love those RTD's!!) It's amazing how adding just that extra bit of food each day fills you up. I have to tell myself to eat everything because I'm just not that hungary.
Today I added in a piece of fruit. I had a banana with my mid-morning supplement. It really tasted great! My first taste of fresh fruit since the end of January.
I weighed in at 147.2 pounds this morning. Same as yesterday. Still trying to keep my calories between 900-1050 my first 4-8 days of transition.
My five supplements and meals today are:
Breakfast: Peach Oatmeal
Mid Morning: French Vanilla RTD Shake and Medium Banana
Lunch: Salad Greens topped with Cabbage, Cauliflower, Broccoli, & Grated Cheddar Cheese with Low Fat Honey Mustard Dressing
Afternoon: Tropical Punch
Dinner: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal and Cooked Green Beans
Evening: Dutch Chocolate RTD Shake
Drinking 104 oz. of water and Crystal Light.
I'll post an update tomorrow on Day Six. |

DAY SIX
I weighed in at 148.2 pounds this morning. One pound up from yesterday. Seems like I have one pound that can't decide whether it wants to come or go! LOL. Still trying to keep my calories between 900-1050 my first 4-8 days of transition.
My five supplements and meals today are:
Breakfast: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Mid Morning: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal and Fresh Raspberries
Lunch: Lemon Fantasy Bar
Afternoon: Tropical Punch & Ranch Soy Crisps
Dinner: Chicken Caesar Salad and Cooked Green Beans
Evening: Dutch Chocolate RTD Shake
Drinking 104 oz. of water and Crystal Light. I also forgot to add to my other posts that I try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day for my exercise.
I'll post an update tomorrow on Day Seven.

THANK YOU AGAIN, DRAMA QUEEN!
You are doing us all a great service by posting your "Transition Journey."
You make it look so easy!
I know we can substitute our own favorites
But it does give us a great outline to go by.
More importantly it helps to see how the pounds are behaving on Transistion!
These last few pounds are really 'sticking to me'.
Lost one/half pound since last Sunday, but that put me in the 130's!
Great milestone!
Well, just gotta keep trekking along...the rate I'm going it might be another month.
But that could be a blessing in disguise to help me at Transistion!
We appreciate all you are doing so much!
BTW. Wishing you great success in your theatrical projects.
Would love to be there to see you, my friend!

Thanks Lizabette for the good wishes!! I know what you mean about those last pesky pounds. I lost 10 pounds my first week on Medifast. The last 10 pounds took 7 weeks!! The great thing is with MF if we stick with the program the weight comes off. I'm so grateful for finding MF and this wonderful Forum. All my friends here are the best support system ever!! You have made this journey much more fun, entertaining and educational by sharing your own struggles, experiences and successes. |

TRANSITION DAY EIGHT
Couldn't post yesterday because of problems acessing the Forum. Here's my post for Day Eight:
I weighed in at 146.4 pounds this morning. Down .4 pounds from yesterday. Still trying to keep my calories between 900-1050 my first 4-8 days of transition.
Today was not a great day. I somehow injured my neck will sleeping Monday night. I don't think I pinched a nerve, just strained a muscle. Had to leave work early the pain was so bad. Went home and put a heating pad on it.
My five supplements and meals today are:
Breakfast: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Mid Morning: Tropical Punch
Lunch: Chicken Caesar Salad
Afternoon: Cranberry Mango Drink
Dinner: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal, Cooked Green Beans & Fresh Bear Lake Raspberries
Evening: French Vanilla RTD Shake
Drinking 104 oz. of water and Crystal Light.
Exercise: Walking at least 10,000 steps a day.
I'll post an update tomorrow on Day Nine when I get to add in some dairy.

DQ,
You are doing soooooo good! I am very impressed.
Also interested in your 10,000 steps.
Please tell us how you accomplish that.
What plan do you use...?
How would water aerobics fit into that plan.
That has to be helpful in maintaining weight.
Do you also have a special plan for getting your water all in?
Do hope you are doing okay now.
Thank you for keeping us updated.

TRANSITION DAY NINE
I weighed in at 147.4 pounds this morning. Up 1 pound from yesterday. Trying to keep my calories between 1000-1150 for the next four days of transistion. I'm interested to see how taking out a supplement and adding in some dairy affects my weight and my system.
The neck feels much better today. Taking a combination of Tylenol and Aleve to manage the pain and it seems to be working. The heating pad last night also really helped.
My four supplements and meals today are:
Breakfast: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Mid Morning: Tropical Punch & Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps
Lunch: Asian Chicken Salad with a Ginger Vinaigrette Dressing
Afternoon: Tropical Punch
Dinner: Cooked Green Beans, Fresh Bear Lake Raspberries and Lemon Yogurt
Evening: Dutch Chocolate RTD Shake
Drinking 104 oz. of water and Crystal Light.
Exercise: Walking at least 10,000 steps a day.
To answer Lizabette's question regarding how do I get in my 104 oz. of water/Crystal Light, here's my schedule (times are approximate):
6:30 AM - 16 oz.
8:30 AM - 16 oz.
10:30 AM - 8 oz.
12:00 PM - 16 oz.
2:30 PM - 8 oz.
4:30 PM - 16 oz.
6:00 PM - 16 oz.
8:00 PM - 8 oz.
It's up to my mood each day which times I drink water and which times I drink Crystal Light.
In regards to the 10,000 steps everyday, I bought myself a very good pedometer at the Sporting Goods store and wear it everyday to track my steps. Working in a Hotel I walk quite a bit and I'm amazed at how many steps I actually take in a day. On a slow day at the Hotel I easily log 5,000 steps in a day. If I haven't made my full 10,000 steps (approximately 5 miles) by the time I get home, I take a walk around the neighborhood. Weekends I take walks to make up the extra steps.
I'll post an update tomorrow on Day Ten. |

TRANSITION DAY TEN
I weighed in at 147.8 pounds this morning. Up .4 pounds from yesterday. Trying to keep my calories between 1000-1150 for days 9-12 of transistion. I can't believe how full I am just by taking out a supplement and adding in some vegaetables, fruit and yogurt as a meal. I was absolutely stuffed last night after dinner!

Mid Morning: Tropical Punch
Lunch: Hamburger Patty and Garden Salad with Ranch Dressing
Afternoon: Cranberry Mango Drink & White Cheddar Ranch Soy Crisps
Dinner: Cooked Green Beans, Medium Banana and Key Lime Yogurt
Evening: Dutch Chocolate RTD Shake

Exercise: Walking at least 10,000 steps a day.

TRANSITION DAY ELEVEN
I weighed in at 146.6 pounds this morning. Down 1.2 pounds from yesterday. Trying to keep my calories between 1000-1150 for days 9-12 of transistion.
I am going to be traveling to Los Angeles tomorrow to see the National Touring Company production of "Little Women" with my sister (she's a Costume Designer at HCT) and some of the production staff from Hale Centre Theatre here in Salt Lake City. Hale Centre Theatre is producing "Little Women" next year as part of their 2007 Season. I saw the touring company this past winter when it was in Salt Lake and love the show!!! I'm excited to see it again and can't wait for auditions!!! (Hoping to play Aunt March.)
My four supplements and meals today are:
Breakfast: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Mid Morning: Cranberry Mango Drink
Lunch: Steamed Chicken & Vegetables at my favorite Chinese Restaurant
Afternoon: Tropical Punch & White Cheddar Ranch Soy Crisps
Dinner: Cooked Green Beans, Medium Banana and Key Lime Yogurt
Evening: Dutch Chocolate RTD Shake
Drinking 104 oz. of water and Crystal Light.
Exercise: Walking at least 10,000 steps a day.
I'll try to post an update tomorrow on Day Twelve. I don't know what kind of computer access I will have while I'm in Los Angeles. If no access I'll post updates on Sunday night when I get home.

DQ,
It looks like you are doing every thing just right...
And still some losing weight!
I'm sure the 10,000 steps play a big part of helping maintain your weight.
The lower calories will also keep you from gaining even slowly adding the extra foods.
Thank you so much for the good information.
Being an 'experienced' (older) medifaster, my food plan already resembles 'transition',
although I usually stick with the regular 5&1.
I think I can easily slip over into the transition phase,
but it might not fit into a regular medifasters transition phase.
We'll find out soon, I'm sure!
I am excited for you about your trip tomorrow to LA to see "Little Women",
and I'll keep my fingers crossed for your audition for "Aunt March"!
You would be wonderful, I know, in whatever part you play!
Please keep sharing your transistion and maintenance progress.
It is invaluable to all of us,
|

I was thinking the same thing, Lizabette. I don't think my transition will be so by the book, either (then again, my whole weight-loss phase hasn't been by the book, so why should this be any different?).
For starters, I eat an extra meal a day and I plan to continue eating this often when I'm in maintenance. And I don't plan to add dairy, since I don't see any need to add that to my daily intake. I hate dairy, other than cheese. I'm waiting for my books to get here, but I'm hoping to use Body for Life for maintenance (and to continue building muscle and losing fat), so I'll need to design my own transition.
You're doing great, though Drama Queen. Talk about discipline! |
