So I finally got the cookies right. I posted earlier that I had used garlic and onion flavored pam to make the pan non stick, but they turned out really yummy this time. They were a little chewy for me, and I made another batch so that I could take them to school with me.

I spred the batter pretty thin into 4 semi large cookies, and gave each one a spray of ICBINB to make them golden and chrispy ontop. DELICIOUS!!!

Allie ~

I am glad that you like the oatmeal cookies; it’s a tasty ‘legal’ meal and makes ya feel like you’re having a real treat. It does take some minor adjustments with the water measurements to get the batter at the right consistency for your altitude and oven temperature. I'm sure the almond extract makes the cookies taste great. I'm a garlic fan but I'm not so sure that garlic and onion flavored Pam would be good with apple cinnamon oatmeal cookies!

Happy losing to you!

i am reading about these oatmeal cookies

if a person makes one batch how many cookies do you get per batch?
how many cookies are you allowed to eat at one setting?
is that like having one MF meal??

thanks

HI, Terri ~

One packet of the Medifast oatmeal does not make very many cookies, it depends upon how big you make them. I usually make three small cookies. Some folks make one larger one. You may have to experiment with the length of time to bake them.

You can eat the entire batch because one packet is a meal.

How 'bout that? grin1.gif

That may be the first time anyone told you that it is OK to eat the entire batch - guilt-free!

icon_redface.gif Little secret here...on more than one occasion, I baked and ate a whole panful of brownies...I didn't start out to eat the whole batch but after I headpound.gif realized that I had eaten more than half a pan, I didn't want to leave the evidence help.gif so scarfed the remainder of them...of course I had to guzzle.gif wash them down with a quart of milk. icon_mrgreen.gif

We've been having oatmeal pancakes around here lately!!

Mike makes the oatmeal cookie recipe with a little more water to make them flatter and a bit rounderish. We get 4 out of one packet. We spray them with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray and drizzle a little sugar free syrup over them (a very carefully measured drizzle which we count as our snack).

They taste a bit like the buckwheat pancakes my uncle used to make.

Boy, they sure hit the spot sometimes! (This from the girl who ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT eat the oatmeal -- I've tried it 3 times in the past year. Just can't do it.)

Diana ~

Thanks for the cool recipe. It sounds like a great way to eat the heart-healthy Oatmeal. I love buckwheat pancakes - my Grammy used to make 'em. Yum!

Had my first AND my last of the scrambled eggs for my last meal tonight. YUCK! Maybe I am spoiled on our homeraised farm bred chickens that lay the most beautifil brown eggs, but the MF ones are just nasty alone.

Perhaps if you use them in recipes they will be useful. Di can't stand the oatmeal, but enjoys the pancakes, brownies, muffins, etc.
