|
|
Proper etiquette in a chat room makes it a more enjoyable place to gather. Many places to chat have become an open forum for argument and hurt or just plain vulgarity. When this happens good people leave. The following rules are a general guideline to follow which will help make this a quality chat room and develop a true sense of "Community".
· Always greet someone who enters the room with a friendly "Hi" or "Welcome".
· Please refrain from vulgar or profane language.
· Never use or take God's name in vain. After all this is the 2nd commandment!
· Ask for clarification of your interpretation of someone's reply to your post, before you make an accusation of what you may think they meant. Comments like "Did you mean?" or "Am I understanding you right?" are a good way to clarify things.
· When discussing/giving opinions on Medifast products or plans, other social issues or any other emotional topics...Always begin your comments with "I Think", "I Believe", "I Feel" etc.... This small gesture eliminates personal attack on someone.
· Never "Flame or Insult" anyone or their beliefs, opinions and values. Arguing with someone will never make a friend or build a community.. Always respect each others values/opinions!
· Don't use LARGE CAPS FOR ALL OF YOUR TYPING, this is known as yelling and is normally used to emphasize a phrase or statement. Anyway, you don't want to be known as a LOUD MOUTH.
· Beware! Don't give out any personal information unless you really want the whole world to know. This is for your own protection!
· Add your email to your profile and instruct people to use the link provided to email you. Never add your email to a post, unless you want your inbox full of spam!
· This is an open forum to the public, and with your help we can keep it that way. Welcome and enjoy....

Hi Lissakay,
I'm thinking you are already in the chat room. The forum is the only "chat room" I know about.

Hi Guys,
Sorry about the term "chat room". Those are just general ettiquette rules for any public interaction on the net. In this case, it's pertaining to the forum.
We are planning on a possible video gathering and chat room in the future. We'll keep you updated on our progress. |

Why don't we create our own chat room
If all of us have MSN or Yahoo Messenger service, AIM, or anyother messenger service we could chat online. We just need to know each other's screen name and then we can chat all we want online. Now how do we do that without giving out our e-mail address in here
Maybe we can create a community, give a temporary screen name and then, when we click with someone that we want to continue chating with we can give another screen name and chat with them whenever we want
If anyone out there has a solution for this, please let me know |

Hi Angie,
If you registier here on the forum and add any of the most popular IM programs into your profile (MSN, Yahoo, ICQ), you'll see a button on other's users post that you can click on and IM them directly. |

Hello, I am a newbie. I ordered a 4 week supply and will be starting 2/1, after I take my mom to sushi for her birthday. I need to lose 50(ish) lbs. I came upon this site while researching Medifast. I didn't come across a 'chat' room but there is a great blog hosted by a lady named Hudson who lost 80 lbs. doing Medifast. She inspired me to order. <snip>No Urls Please - Mr. Snippy</snip>
I look forward to success and support on here!

My account was disabled. Can you activate it again? I was trying to updated my email address and now my account is invalid.
Thanks, |
