Thought I would post these so that I have a realatively permantant and public record of where I have come from and where I am. The first was taken on The Mall in DC in the fall of '07. The second was taken June 23, 2008. Started TSFL, Sept 21, 2007, had to go off on Dec 21, 2007 for my ankle surgery. Had lost 80 pounds at that point. I have struggled to get back on track and since January have lost another 20 then put it back on.

I guess I should have turned the other way in the most recent one to show off my new tattoo! I got it in memory of my friend, Alicia, who passed away in February after an 8 year battle with breast cancer. The pink in the hair is part of that too.

Thanks to both of you. I feel good, physically. I can't believe that I have the desire to get up in the morning and go to the gym. I think I am the only person in the world to fail gym in high school!

Thanks dede! Somehow, having the photos up makes me feel a little more accountable to everyone here. As for the gym, I am actaually finding the time I spend there enjoyable YIKES!

I am thinking about having the Bible verse reference (not the whole verse) 2 Timothy 4:7 added under it - just in black or purple script. Some folks ahve a hard time reading the "faith" since it is in pink ribbon. BTW - the verse... "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." If anyone ever lived this verse it was Alicia. Having the tattoo is a constant reminder that, whatever I am going through, someone else has it worse. Even though she was sick for 8 years with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in her lymph nodes, liver and bones she always smiled, kept her faith and never gave up hope that she would be healed. In the end - she was healed, just not on this earth. I rest in the knowledge that she has found her reward with God in Heaven.

WOW - sorry if that was TMI![/quote]

Well, hey, I didn't TAKE gym in high school because they counted marching band and even CONCERT band as p.e. (the band teacher told 'em he'd make us march around even for concert band, but we never did).

Now that is just NOT FAIR! I took marching band and had to be there at 4am because we were in Arizona and it was too hot to practice after school. It only counted for an elective! icon_mad.gif
