I feel numb today.

Found out last night that my Dad has had not one but two heart attacks. One was some time ago and the other was two days ago. It's a long story and so much is going on...

We were going to go to the hospital today, 3 hours away, but in the end I felt it would not do any good bringing two kids with me. So I just have to wait by the phone for more details. He is having a Angiogram (sp) at 12:30 today so what damage has been done and what they can do from here.

I was a mess last night, it's all shocking because my dad is a power house and has never been ill before. He's 74.

Now I just get to sit and wait.

Oh my god, Sharon, I am so sorry to hear this! The good news is that he's being taken care of now, and they are going to see what they can do to both remedy the past damage and prevent further problems. I'll be thinking of you!

Thank you Lauren, Bigger, Katesmom for your concern. I appreciate it. HUGS

We are finally home. Dad went home from the hospital yesterday. They ended up putting a stint on the 99% blocked artery and leaving the 60% alone because they were so close together. The doctor feels he will do fine now as long has he stays on his meds. We are all relived and thankful. We kept hearing so many different reports and it was just so emotional and tiring. Today I am in a fog, tired and in a funk.

Being off plan for two days showed that I had gained 7 pounds. Crazy thing is, I didn't even go crazy. I ate two meals each day. Oh well....onward and downward.

If there's one thing I've learned in my many forays off-plan, it's that water weight comes back on really quickly. I'm sure that 7 pounds is almost all water, since you admit you didn't go crazy, and it'll be gone in a day or two.

I'm glad things worked out for your Dad. Keep on him about those meds!

Sharon, I'm so sorry! I hadn't visited your journal for a bit, so I just saw this. I'm glad your dad is doing better, though.

And yes, definitely water weight. It'll be gone in no time.

Hi Sharon,

Glad to hear that your dad is improving. icon_biggrin.gif

As for the weight... I have found that even when I don't think I'm doing things bad, when I don't follow the program, I see an increase. When we go through traumatic things, we tend to not take in enough nutrition sometimes, and our bodies decide its starving, so keeps everything that we do take in. That may be what has happened. The good thing is that once you are back on 100% that 7 lbs will come right off.

Hang in there. We are rooting for you and Tony.

Thanks for the PM also, I really appreciated it.

Thanks guys for you nice thoughts regarding my Dad.

I am still working off those 7 pounds I gained, I'm .8 away. icon_mad.gif But still plan to have a good weigh in this Thurs, should be on the negative, instead of the positive!
