I never knew that my lovely wife had such a sense of humor (well, actually, I did).
Too funny. |

Okay for me, the dibatic route is a good one...but really seems like a no brainer, pack shakes in handy shaker...ask for cold water on plane, shake and drink from shaker, thats what I always do....no need for pretty glasses...rinse and ready for next use.
There were several people on my flight with Ensure....probably were diabetics.... not temporary ones... |

Maisy, I think there in lies my original problem! I am a SHAKE SNOB! If I am having a 'regular shake' (read 'non-RTD') then it must be a shake - made with ice, made super cold, etc etc......purty glass and all! Yup, shake snob I am! Step 1 of my recovery is complete - LOL
I can tell you that I have gotten RTD's through security before Scary, on accident but true!
I'm glad Unca put up the pic! I am blonde and I gotta tell you I was wonderng WTH an inverted Nevada was....never dawned on me she meant the STATE! uhmmm, DUH! Can't wait to see pics cause I'm still clueless as to how she did it - - and Crazy OC's idea made me gag - LOL
Inverted Nevada meant the STATE....who knew?!? LOL |

Pictures... finally.
I decided to take it upon myself today to take pictures of me making my shake in a bottle. So for all of those asking the question, "How do you pour the shake packet into a bottle without getting the powder all over the place?", here is the answer.... in pictures.... with descriptions.
Step 1:
Carefully tear top of packet about 1/3 of the way across the top.
Step 2:
Insert a finger into the left side of the opening
Step 3:
Carefully fold down the right side of the packet in such a way that the packet (slightly) resembles the state of Nevada (inverted) and your finger has essentially formed a spout hole
Step 4:
This is what the spout should look like
Step 5:
Carefully invert the packet in such a way that the spout gently goes into the top of an open, half full, 16.9 oz bottle of water. Gently tap the packet until all of the powder is in the bottle. Discard packet.
Step 6:
Replace cap on bottle and shake. Voila.... your RTD is done.
I hope this helps all.

No ice here.... this is just how to make a shake when you are out and about and all you have is a bottle of water.
To blend it with ice... you kinda need a blender... |

I'm with you, KM -- ice really helps with the clumps!! But in those I've-got-a-packet-but-no-shaker-jar moments, this Inverted Nevada method works well. Mike thought it was too much work when I showed him, but had to admit after trying it that it really is easier and less messy than what he was trying to do.
So, there you have it! Serendipity in action! (Thanks, honey, for taking and posting the pics.) |
