When i try to quote something from someone elses post, it just shoes as "quote" but i notice that everyone else that quote says "lifelovinaries wrote:" this seems to have just started. I am still using the same procedure that i previously used but it wont show the other poster's name. HELP!

When you highlight and then click quote, the html code should start with
followed by the quote and then the end tag should be
Note: The user name should appear like "username". I had to remove one so you could see how it should look before posted.
What does your code look like when its copied into the message? |

ok, this is becoming frustrating. I must be missing a step in here somewhere. this is EXACTLY what i do.
1. click post reply
2. click on quote
3. go down the bottom highlight the area i want to quote, right click and copy
4. return up top, paste and click quote again which ends the quote
so all i see (before submission) is [*quote] whatever the quote is...
(the asterisk should be removed i just put it in there so THAT wouldnt show as a quote) it does not show any username. I have also tried copying the info prior to clicking post reply. i've tried highlighting then just clicking quote (which is what you stated) and nothing happened but it put a
where i would normally type. then what? am i missing a step. forgive me for sounding stupid but somewhere in there, i changed something because i used to be able to quote fine. i guess ovary chick is thinking with her ovaries again... |

Ahhhhhhhhh - try this:
1. Highlight the text you want to copy
2. Click the quote button
3. The window will auto open with your quote inserted, you type your message as you normally would. |

If you want to quote two people from the same post (as above) just copy everything you want to quote. If you want to quote from different posts you'll have to manually add the code I stated above.
Make sense? |

The only thing I do different is that sometimes I don't want to quote the entire statement, so I click the quote button, then delete the part I don't want within the quote text.
When quoting more than 1 person, you do as Kym said... click the quote button in your tools section above your message box, copy in the quoted text, including the person's name that the quote is from and then make sure you hit the quote button again to end the quote. This is if you have two separate quotes unrelated to each other.
Like so:
| dude1 wrote: | | this is the first one |
and the second one
