Ugh - I, personally, think it should be illegal to be awake at 4:30am. I am so glad I don't have to do this everyday. Anyway - here I am in the quiet of the morning - blessed to be alive and healthy. As I have prepared for the horse show that will take place today, I have met many people who have lost loved-ones to the ugly disease of cancer and many who are still fighting the beast.
Lord, may I be humbled by their strength and renewed by their faith.
I would like to offer up this prayer....
Dear Gracious, Heavenly Father,
I want to thank You for this opportunity to gather today to
celebrate the life of Alicia Dupler and all other cancer
warriors who have finished their race and gone on before us
and to honor those who still fight the good fight against all
types of cancer. I would ask, Lord, that You be with us
today at the horse show arena as I pray You will also be
with us in life’s arena. I ask for safety for riders, horses
and all participants. I thank you for the show committee
for all their efforts in putting on this great event and cause.
Give everyone the realization that we are all winners just by
participating today. Help us to compete today and in life as
honest as the horse we ride; in a manner as clean and pure
as the wind that blows; so that when we make that Last
Ride, that we know is inevitable, to the Country Up There...
Where the grass is green and lush and stirrup-high and the
water runs clean and clear; You, as our Last Judge, will say
to us, “Welcome home cowboy, your entry fees are paid in
full.” We ask this in Jesus precious name. Amen
Thanks to all who have prayed for a successful event today! |

Thanks for sharing that prayer, Brenda. Hope you have a great day and a wonderful show!!
Part of me hates living in the city because I will never know how peaceful and nice the country can be!!! At least, not yet
And thank you for being so supportive, helpful, and inspirational. We can definitely do this!! |

Simply put, I am completely exhausted! The show went well. We cried, we laughed, we had fun remembering. I will post photos on my photobucket page when I get them from the photographer.
I am in the process of rescuing a horse right now and the stress is quite overwhelming. He belonged to Alicia and went to a friend when Alicia died. The friend is going through lots of marrital and other private issues and can't take proper care of him. He is very VERY thin and many of us are concerned that he may not survive. I have him at my house right now and the lady that had him is not happy about it. I just pray for peace right now. |

Hi Brenda,
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello....Sounds like you are a life saver...Literally, I mean. You would be the one to save him and you can do it...The heck with what the lady thinks. She had a chance to take care of him and blew it...Now it's Dr. Brenda to the rescue !
Haven't found out about how long Tom Hanks was on the island, but let's pretend we are there in the tropics !! I'll take a sugar free pina colada ! And you???
Miss chatting with you...
Will pm you... |

Make mine a DOUBLE DOUBLE and drive me home please! I am so exhausted with the legal battle that is ensuing over the horse issue. Please pray for a good outcome for Beau - he is too good a horse to be starved to death. Hrmph - I would gladly let him have 100 pounds of my padding if I could.
Anyway. Hangin in is about all I can say. |

Well, I am horribly stressed over talking to numerous law enforcement officials and dealing with a horse that had one foot in the grave. He is doing much better now than he was a couple of days ago, so I am at least glad that he is improving under my care.
Medifast wise, I am stuck! Horribly stuck! I had gone off plan because of working on the show (NOT a good idea and NOT recommended) - I knew I was going to be around lots of sweets and other assorted "fair food" so I just got complacent. ANYWAY - I was going to hop right back on plan on Monday - and I did, until the evening after dealing with legal crap regarding the horse. Then I went off to have a cupcake and a muffin. I started again this morning, but I am just not fully dedicated to it. I know that going into surgery on Thursday (a full fast for about 18 hours because of the time my surgery is schedualed then whatever I eat after surgery - usually toast) is going to throw me out of any fat burning stage I get into today and tomorrow. SOOOOO, I have rationalized that I should wait until Friday. Since Friday is the first of the month - that will help me psychologically as a good start day anyway.
I know, I know all I have done here is rationalize away 2 good days of being on plan. I have made lame excuses and relieved myself of any guilt I should feel about not being compliant. I can't help it. Sorry. |

Whew! That was a close one! I nearly lost it there, but all is well now. Peanut butter is back in the cupboard and all is well with the world!
Surgery tomorrow then back on the program on Friday! |

The topic of peanut butter is often disputed on the forum. I have heard yes and no. The prevailing opinion is that we are allowed 1 tablespoon of peanut butter as a snack. To stay 100% on plan that 1 tablespoon is IT, NOTHING else for a snack. I, however, was able to allow myself peanut butter on my celery and still average a pound a day weight loss back when I was completely on plan. Some can tweak, some cannot.
I am not on plan right now because of the surgery later today. I knew that I was going to fall out of fat burning stage anyway and allowed myself to use that as an excuse not to try to start again until Friday. That should work for me, it is the first of the month which will help me focus. |
