Today is day 16 on MF and I am really feeling good. People at church noticed my weight loss which is always encouraging. What a blessing everyone's journal entries have been for me today. For years I thought I was the only one who couldn't sit in a chair without getting cramps in my thighs from the arms, or that my bathtub had to be smaller than anyone elses because I couldn't enjoy a hot bubble bath. Seeing the struggles that others are having are some of the same that I struggle with gives me a feeling of community.

So, other than the tablespoon of low fat, low sugar peanut butter that I add to my celery sometimes. I have not gone off plan since I started. Once again, I had to turn my back on some yummy looking sweets since we have a fellowship at church every Sunday that includes cakes and cookies and all the stuff I love, but know I cannot have. Times like that it is hard to stay OP, but I have managed.

Now, I am off for a short walk and to the grocery for some greens. I would like to find something different today, the same old salad greens are getting kinda boring.

Thank you to all who read and encourage me in my journal. I appreciate being welcomed into the fold. My next step will be to add some photos - that is a tough one, but a step I am willing to take to get the full benefits of being a member of this community.

Hello Rodeomom!

Glad you are in the MF family! You are definitely not alone in the bathtub/chair department. I can't remember when I was able to sit in the bathtub and not have the water pool behind and in front of me. I still have issues with my hips being bruised from sitting in chairs with arms.

My suggestion to you for your grocery shopping is to carry your Quick Start guide with you. If not the whole thing, at least carry a copy of the meats, veggies and meatless alternative pages. I have it permanently affixed to my calendar/daily tracker, and it goes with me EVERYWHERE. When I go grocery shopping, I whip it out to compare what's on sale and which veggies I can actually have. The other day, I got turnip greens (a southern favorite) because I had forgotten I could actually have them! I also can look at which meats/meatless items I can get that will fit in my program.

Best wishes! You CAN do all things.....

Rodeomom,

Thank you for your entry in my journal today! icon_biggrin.gif I had to come see if you had a journal yourself after that and lo, you do!

I am blown away at how well you are doing on Medifast... you are losing at an amazing rate! Kudos! It's especially impressive considering the injuries and surgeries you are dealing with.

I am looking forward to getting some smaller wardobe options myself icon_wink.gif Not too many, but at least a nice dress for Christmas with the family. Not sure where in the spectrum of sizes I'd fall at that point, so I'll wait until early December to scope them out. Since I get their catalogs practically weekly, I was checking out the velvet swanky options that Coldwater Creek has... I go for the bright colors and rich textures. Kind of like a bower bird: Ooo sparkly! glasses.gif

I look forward to reading your journal and getting to know you on here! cheers.gif

Anytime, Berkshiergrl. I meant it when I said I would love to help in anyway. Some days can be long and hard, I know that and have appreciated the support from others and want to return it when I can.

Hey girl!!! I'm glad you took a walk instead of taking a bite!! That's a HUGE NSV, you should be proud!! I'm sorry the show didnt turn out like you would have wanted - - maybe that'll be more for you to sell next weekend :-).

I've been at the fair all day but wanted to pop in and say howdy - - I'm heading over to journal now, haven't been there yet today.

TTFN!

Inspired by Berkshiregrl I have decided to bite the bullet and measure. My excuse had been that I didn't have a tape - kind of a lame excuse for a seamstress.

Here goes -

Neck - 14.5
Bicept - 18
Forarm - 11
"The Girls" - 50
Right under them - 45
Waist - 43
Humugo hips - 55
Thigh - 33
Calf - 19

Total - 243.5 (not including my extra measurment under the girls)

Man - I was having a decent day until now. bricks.gif Oh, well - this will help keep me accountable to myself if no one else.

Thanks for the inspiration Berk! nana.gif

I am with you, girl! I measured yesterday or the day before and recorded it online but not in my journal. I too felt the 'OMGOSH' feeling!! But, I am SO looking forward to the skinn measurements!!!

Plus - just remember they are smaller than they were 16 days ago ;-)

Rodeo, 'tis my pleasure! Wink wink, nudge nudge!

You and I look to be built very much alike. Except your bodacious tatas are a tad more tata icon_lol.gif It's close!

Three cheers for both of us on our way to become slender birches rather than redwoods-in-training! buds.gif

Hi,

I really enjoyed your encouragement in my journal - it was so nice. I will be offline for a few days while away. Hope you have a lovely week! I will stop over when I am back and read up on how things are going.

regards,
joy

Not a problem Joy - I am hoping to be an encourager (man I admitted to the English degree, now I gotta worry about my AWFUL spelling). Anyway, reading the board is encouraging to me and I want to let everyone know that.

Hey Rodeomom! I looked for you in roll call and didn't see you. Then I came over here and see you've lost 35 lbs in 16 days! Wow! That is fantastic. Shows you are really working the program. Congrats!

OK, here we go again!

I noticed I have an avatar now! Yea! icon_exercise.gif If there is any pic I like of me it is this one. Kinda funny too. I was at work, a grocery store, the DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving. How he was able to get me to smile that day is beyond me. What a kind and sweet guy though. He was taking photos for a slide show to celebrate the town's 200th anniversary and he said he just had to get a picture of "the most infectious smile in town". grin1.gif Many times I have held onto that single comment when I start getting down on myself for being fat. If I had to pick my two best features I would have to say my smile and my hair. BTW thanks BERK for your comment on my studio thread - very uplifting! Many folks mention my thick hair, but all the women in my family have enough hair to share with 10 people so I rarely think about it.

OK, I have rambled about my good points long enough when I have so many other parts that need improving.

I have realized in recent days that I really have NO LIFE to speak of. Since I am off work because of the ankle and I really don't have any "friends" to speak of I am feeling kinda like a loser right now. icon_confused.gif Someone elses journal has an entry about a significant other being upset at the time she spends on MMT. If he only knew how much time I spend. I can't help it right now though - even though my family is also on the program all I hear is how I shouldn't do this or that. I started to get a bar last night and my mother started to lecture me about how we aren't supposed to eat those after dinner time. UGG! icon_mad.gif I just really enjoy the non-judgemental support and encouragement I get from MMT. Even if people aren't posting to me - I still get inspriation from what they say to other people here.

I cleaned out my closet last night. icon_biggrin.gif As Berk would say - ARG! YE Beasties, off the Plank with the lot of ya. icon_whip.gif I decided that anything that is big and baggy must go. If I am going to work to stay OP I am going to let the world know that it is working! Only flattering clothes for me from now on. Even if my mother has to make the comment that "that top is a little snug isn't it?" icon_confused.gif The massive cavern in my closet is kinda scary right now. But I have decided that even if I have to wear the same 3 outfits all the time, I will not dress like I don't care about myself anymore. I thought this might be tough for me since most of these clothes are brand new. I didn't care though, if it doesn't fit it is gone! EBAY here I come. If anyone is interested in some very nice clothing at very reasonable prices let me know. Most are size 26/28 or 3XL. Shirts, pants, dresses etc. My Ebay ID is fancyzippers, if you see something you like, let me know and I will make a deal off Ebay for you.

So, now I start my day. Time to get dressed and onto listing aucitons. Blessings to all for a great OP day!!

Hi Rodeo,
Spoofed journals happen a lot. Unca put a new spam alert on. One suggestion always copy your entry. Especially if it is a long one.

Thanks Katie - I did that the second time around. I also noticed that it doesn't happen when you preview instead of just posting.
