I've only been on MF for six days and have been noticing that my hair is falling out more. I am getting concerned about this. Does this last very long. Is there anything one can take to stop this?

I have been lucky enough not to lose patches, it has just thinned out a lot. With my current haircut that is a good thing! Here are two side by side examples of my hair when I started Medifast and the thickness now:

I would be surprised if your hair loss (at this stage) was actually due to MF. Some people have hair loss on low cal diets but it normally doesn't happen for several weeks. Maybe you are just having summer shedding! icon_smile.gif

When I did MF 3 years ago I had horrible hair loss after about 6 weeks. This time I have taken precautions. Everyday I take a flaxseed oil capsule, Omega 3, Biotin and a high quality multiple. I am now 10 weeks into the program and the only loss has been 28 lbs! As a matter of fact, my hair and nails are better than ever.

Hope this helps.

Improper Thyroid functions as well as a host of other possible system-wide conditions can result in minimal to excessive hair loss in Women. Getting an accurate diagnosis of the imbalance and effectively treating it with the appropriate medications is one of the most common proven methods of treating women's hair loss.
