Hi, Tawanda! Good to see you! Thanks for the kind words!
Weight today: 195.0. Slow but steady in the right direction! Stayin' true to the plan, no blips.
I have completely fallen off the exercise wagon. So, here I go gettin' right back on again!
We got mom and dad home safely. There was wind damage - lots of trees down, dead animals everywhere, and a little water in their garage. Electricity and water were off for four days, so the place was very musty and moldy. Since the fridge and the freezer in the garage were off, they lost quite a bit of food. But no major damage and they didn't lose anything that caused distress! There's still no fuel in their area, so work and schools are closed until next week.
Wednesday was Troy and my 3rd anniversary! I left a card in his laptop so he'd find it when he got to work. When I got home, he had painted me a card and left it by the door with two dozen roses! He also got off work an hour early and came home and did all the busy work around the house and made steaks for dinner!
The next night (last night) we went to see a new Kevin Smith movie. There's a film festival going on in Austin right now called Fantastic Fest, and he debuted his next film, called Zack and Miri Make a Porno with Seth Rogan. After the movie Kevin Smith and his producer, Scott Mosier, came out on stage and told stories about making the movie and answered audience questions. It was so fun! The movie is really cute and funny, too. Raunchy, though - of course!
Hubby's truck has been in the shop, so he's been driving my Explorer and I've been driving the VW bus to work every day. It still needs a lot of work, but I just love driving it! I feel so happy rattling down the road with the windows open and the tunes cranked! It actually makes me a happier and friendlier driver.
My prayer life has been getting stronger lately, too! It's funny how tied together everything in life is. The more in control I've become of what I put in my mouth, the more thankful I've become. The more thankful I feel, the happier I am. Gratitude and joy make me want to thank the Lord, which leads me to spend more time in prayer! Hopefully this will pour over into other areas: exercise, daily quiet time with God and finances. One by one I know they'll fall into line! |

Headin' into the weekend at 194.4 lbs. Chuggin' along!
After a 7am meeting, 3 hours training on a new computer system, a mad dash across town for another meeting, and being given a constant stream of conflicting information, I gave into stress yesterday and ate two Reese's cups. Aargh. (but dang they were really good) I know this merger at work is going to be stressful, especially next week. Go-live date is the 1st (Wednesday). So after yesterday's mishap I've stocked up on soy crisps at work. This weekend I'm gonna practice the shake cake and hot cocoa brownie recipes I've found. They'll make a good "junk food" substitute.
I'm starting a challenge on Monday that they're doing on the My Medifast site. We get points for water intake, sticking to the plan, getting in all MF meals and exercise. I'm glad I'm starting it the same week ans the work merger. It'll keep me focused.
We go to Indiana for a family reunion October 15th. That's two weeks. I'm gonna shed as much as I can before we go! I'd love to see 175 by then, but I know that's a big stretch.
Have a good weekend, ya'll! |

I'm still at 194.4. Most like TOM - and I have to confess to a greater salt intake this weekend. I've been salting everything. Gonna lay off the white powder this week.
The last coupla weeks have been really overwhelming with the merger at work. This week will be no exception! Wednesday is our go-live date. We'll be using new standard operating procedures and new computer systems. For a while my office will be the "experiment" and I'll be using both the old and the new systems. I hate change, but I'm excited to see what new opportunities come up. I'd love it if in the end Troy and I could end up working on the same side of town. We might even be able to carpool and save gas. That's down the road, though.
This week I'm starting TWO challenges on the My Medifast board. One is the Back to Basics challenge, and the goal is to follow the program as written - to cut down on the "extras" and snacks and condiments. The other is the The Don't Fall Off the Wagon fall challenge. It involves points for exercise, extra water, taking time to log meals, etc. I'm really hoping the challenges help ramp up my weight loss and make exercise a regular part of my daily routine. I'm ready! Bring it on!!! |

Way to get us rollin', KM!
It's been a really trying week. Wednesday was our Go-Live day for the merger. New computers, new programs, new procedures - and we're still using part of the old stuff, too. Loooong days - been getting to work early and leaving late every day. I'm exhausted! And my brain really hurts.
I know it's just all the changes, but I'm just not sure if I want to stay. But I have a lot of years here, and I don't want to jump ship too early and regreat it. I'll definitely stay thru the holidays, then re-evaluate. Everything is so overwhelming right now.
Still losing, but very slowly. Weight today: 193.8. The 170's seem SO far away.
I haven't forgotten you all! I think every week will get better. |

At least you're still losing, moving in the right direction. I wish you luck with your work stress - hopefully things will get easier as you all get used to the new stuff. The stress may be why you're losing slowly, right? So I'm glad you're not getting discouraged. |

| It's definitely best not to make any hasty decisions. And a pound's better than nothing. I've been stuck for two weeks, but I knew it was bound to happen. |

| How's it going, Tex? Here's a little encouragement: After being stuck for two weeks, I just dropped a pound in two days. So we may be slow, but we CAN do it. |

Hi, Everybody!
Thank you all so much for checking in on me and for your encouragement!
I'm still stuck at 193.8. But at least I'm stuck below 200!
Work is still incredibly stressful, but it gets better every day! The new company folks are trying so hard to make the transition as easy as possible for us.
With the insanely long and busy days, I haven't been on-plan the way I want to be. No cheating, but I only at 3 or 4 MF meals on 4 days of the past week. Getting the water in hasn't been a problem. I drink 64oz of H2O and 3 bottles of whupazz - the momentum flavor infusers every day. I usally drink a hot green tea and an antioxidant infuser, too, so I'm well-hydrated. For the same reasons I also haven't exercised.
I'm sure that I'm stalled because I'm not getting exercise and all my meals in. I also haven't been sleeping well with all that's on my mind. So this week, I pledge to get in ALL my MF meals, get on the treadmill at least 20 min a day, and get to bed early as often as possible. I'm ready to reach the 170's!!! |

| You can do it! And the treadmill might ease a little of your stress - and help you sleep better, too! |

I'm feeling much more positive today. I think I'm finally starting to find my stride at work.
Daisy the VW bus is almost done at the shop. I can't wait to start driving her again! I'm so glad we found a mechanic we like who can give her TLC when she needs it.
Holding at 193.6 today. |
