Here I am in the middle of Day One. The first thing I have learned about MediFast is: minestrone explodes. |

Also watch the Hot Choc. If you use a blender it gets very frothy. When you microwave it, and it will spill over.

Any of the hot drinks will explode. Mix and then heat. |

Well, I made it through my first day! WooHoo! It took until 11pm, but I drank all the water, too! I can't believe how much I peed today! I swear I coulda filled a kiddy pool by bedtime.
I've been kind of sleepy. I actually took a two hour nap when I got home. I've read that only lasts about a week, though. I can make it! |

| I have had a chicken soup explosion, but with a blender! I was at work and it was SUCH a mess! The top flew off the blender and the soup ended up everywhere! |

Thanks for the cheers, ya'll! It's good to know I'm not the only one to blow MF all over the break room. It still smells like minestrone in there.
This morning I am 5 lbs lighter at 225! So cool! So that's how much all that pee weighs. I've actually learned to speed pee so I can keep up with the day!
It took me a while to go to sleep last night. It was probably the nap that kept me up. I have a raging headache today. I was hoping I'd get to skip that part. How long do they usually last?
I didn't want to have to think too hard about the L&G, so I bought a bunch of flavors of frozen fish to bake in the evening (and a bag of salad). What I didn't plan on was how hard I'd have to fight the zoo for dinner! -Damn, hang on a sec, gotta go pee again-Whew! Almost overflowed - When my husband and I got married a year and a half ago, I already had two cats and he had two, so now we have four. About nine months ago I brought home our French bulldog, Dobby. So we have quite the animal preserve going! And they ALL LOVE FISH! I have to hide in the bedroom so I can eat slowly! |

You are crackin me up, Stacey. Filling kiddy pools and speed pee are definitely new concepts to me. I've heard of peeing in the pool, but never filling it.
As for the headaches.....the first time I did MF I had killer headaches for about 4 days. I guess my bod was detoxing. So.....this time I was prepared. I bought some Excederine Migraine and the moment I felt that killer headache coming on, I took one (cause you can only take 1 per day) Potent stuff!! It's weird because I could tell the headache was still there......but it didn't hurt.
Congratulations on making through the first day and well into your 2nd day. You're doing great!!!!!!

I have a Cairn Terrier who will watch the hand as it moves from plate to mouth and back again. That's only movement she makes until I tell her the food's gone. My daughter says if freaks her out when Peanut does that to her. |

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I do have some Excedrin Migraine at home - good suggestion! I will take one as soon as I get there. I used to take Imitrex for migraines but it's been a long time since I had one. Donica, you explained it perfectly - it gives me this weird floaty feeling like I know the ache is still there, but I'm not feeling it. I'm sleepy today but I'm going to try not to take a nap and go to bed early instead. I bet a good night's sleep will help with the headaches, too.
My husband's cat, Poppy, actually made a mid-air-fish-bite-snatch last night! She was doing the intent stare-at-the-fork thing while I was eating. Then she saw Dobby perk up and get interested, and I guess she thought she had to make her move! She actually lept through the air and stole the bite of fish I was about to eat right off the fork! I just sat there staring at the fork where by bite used to be, completely dumbfounded. It was cajun flavored and she kept panting and sneezing after she snarfed it. Serves her right. |

Day 3! I feel lots better today. No headaches. Still peeing like a fireman's hose. No cravings so far! I even made dinner for a friend and hubby last night, and didn't even want to sample!
I did make one small mistake last night, though. Dobbs the French bulldog has had an infection and takes pills twice a day. We spent several days trying to force her to swallow the pill. She has an enormous mouth and endless creativity in finding ways to hide the pill in there. Then she'd wait until we'd get all settled on the couch, then amble over and hack the pill up on a foot. Lovely. We found that if we start feeding her bits of a slice of Kraft singles, she would get all excited about the cheese, and we could wrap a bit of it around the pill and she would inhale it. Then I'd pop the last of the slice in my mouth, which I did! I swallowed it and immediately realized what I did!!! Aaargh!
Tried the soy crisps. Not bad! |

LOL! Stacey, you are a real hoot!! Before I had cats I had dogs and ran into the same problem, except that Labs usually eat anything (and everything!). Still, until I got good and was able to push the little pill down their throats I used to put it in a dollop of peanut butter (a legal MF snack, by the way)!
