| I don't know why but maintenance is so scary to me - guess I'm scared I won't stick with it! Thank you so much for sharing your struggles! It's good to know that even tho it's a struggle, it can be done right! |

Hello!
Thank you for your comments!
I'm still here, still reading at least once a day, still working on maintaining my loss. I am finding it challenging to keep the pounds off and all too easy to allow myself to eat more than what my body needs.
I'm still firm on not allowing myself to gain enough that I need new clothes. I do believe that is what is giving me the incentive to make wiser choices. There are still far too many times when I allow my head hunger and that 'nasty inner spoiled brat' to make poor choices.
Life is very busy, extra commitments and along with that my stress level (and desire for 'comfort' or 'I deserve a treat for making it through this' . Truth is: I deserve to eat healthy and I deserve to keep this weight off AND I owe myself more intelligent choices.
I do wish that Lizabette would check in and Jo, too. I hope HB is doing well........
Hello to all!
Happy 4th! |

Hey, Miss T.! So great to hear from you!
The maintenance thing is a total mind-game. I am constantly negotiating with myself, what I can allow, what I can't, if I choose this, then I have to forgo that. It's part of the game. I've gone so far as to know certain triggers, and literally tell myself to walk on a different side of the street to avoid XYZ store or whatever. It's great that you're firm on the clothing thing - it will keep you honest...unless the clothes have elastic waists! :-)
And you truly hit the key point in your post, when you said that what you really deserve is to eat healthy! That completely backwards thinking of us "deserving chocolate or some treat" is totally counter-intuitive to what is truly good for us. Making the right choices, i.e. healthy and balanced eating, is what will sustain us, make us stronger, look better, and live longer. Sounds hokey, but yeah, we know it's true, right?
Anyway, I chatted with Jo a few weeks back and she's doing well. Never heard a peep from Lizabette, but HB comes here periodically and she's doing great!
So keep on keepin' on, pretty lady!
Cheers,
Lauren |

Hi Tawanda! Thanks for the insight on maintanance. I know that was the difficult part for me and therefore, I gained back much of my weight, because I allowed myself to just eat as I did before MF. I know I'll do it differently, the right way this time.
Have a great day! |

I'm still working on the treat concept, too. I think we probably ALL are.
But I found a decent compromise when I went out to dinner the other night. Yes, I deserved a treat. So I treated myself to a really good steak (filet, since it's leaner than my normal choice - ribeye - plus it's a nice, small portion). I felt indulgent, but I was still making a good, healthy choice. I also try to "treat" myself with small portions of a favorite (but possibly out of season) fruit or veggie, like artichokes or raspberries.
It doesn't always work, but it's working more and more often.

I didn't even look to see how long ago I made my last entry here. I haven't a clue if it was a week ago, 2 weeks ago or 2 days ago......don't care.
I've been off and on program. The scale has been up and down. I still am not down to my goal weight, but I am feeling very good knowing the scale will be back to 147 soon.
I'm still wearing my pedometer daily. Most days I'm close to 9,000 steps but it is the rare day when I hit 10,000. Exercise is still something I 'think' about doing and have yet to make a priority (some things just don't change--or at least haven't changed 'yet').
I placed a huge BeSlim order a couple weeks ago and have a nice variety of product. I keep wondering at why I am still buying so much MF product when I'm considering myself at goal and just working on maintaining my loss (just???? ). I do like the ease of MF foods and going back to the 5/1, during this battle with getting and staying at 147, has been very helpful. I had no intention of continuing to daily/weekly/monthly use this much MF products -- but I do believe it is what has helped me keep my weight in check during this 'learning to deal with food again' period.
I still read the forums at least once a day but haven't felt that I had any thing to contribute at this time.
Guess that is it from here. |

Hey T! I've missed keeping up with you. I'm sorry to hear that you feel like you've struggled with your weight not staying at 147 and the whole "treat' thing. I've been reading Robin's journal and she has some great ideas for 'cheating' that aren't really cheats. Maybe look into that option.
Anyway, I'm back and I'm still here cheering you on! Hope things are well in your part of the world! |

Hello!
I love seeing those who have stopped by Thank you.
I'm still reading the posts here, I try to do so daily, but 'the busy days of summer' have hit here and some days don't hold enough spare minutes for the computer.
I'm still just above my goal weight (darn me anyway!) But I do feel really good about how I'm doing, what I'm doing and using MF to help me maintain. I would rather be those few pounds below 147 instead of above it......but am willing to accept this weight as I learn and practice intelligent choices and serving amounts.
Yesterday I wore my pedometer and had 13,296 steps. That is the highest number I've recorded so far.
If anyone knows how Lizabette is doing, will you let me know. I miss her, Jo, Biki and HB among so many others....I'm hoping for the day they'll all pop in to at least say 'hello' and let us know how they are doing. |
